The unprecedented addition of seventeen Australian cattle dogs in the valley has brought about vehement protests from the highly secretive Save Us From The Aussies Association (SUFTAA). Ten puppies were born (and have all been sold for R1000ea.)on Defence farm and seven on Sans Souci farm. The editor approached Rick Johnson with the protest against this apparently invasive unindigeneous dog type. He said "Certainly. They don't like indigeneous." Asked whether they had any special skills: "They herd and they munch."
The editor approached Bryan Bode, Kamberg's leading authority on all things not belonging to home soil;
ED: Would you say these dogs are invasive and do they constitute a threat to local breeds?
BB: They are exotic to say the least, but whether they pose any threat to Jackal and KD's (the only sort of indigeneous dog types localy) is questionable.
In an obvious conciliatory act, responding to SUFTAA's appeal, an unmentionable man drowned all his Ausy cattle dogs when they were born white. Upon finding that the pups turn black after a week he cried out in despair; "I'm going to kill those SUFTAA guys!"
COOL THINGS TO DO IN THE KAMBERG #88
Qauding the 'Attiebahn'
A well balanced track with smart corners and open throttle straights. It gives a wonderful gravel purchase for two wheel manouvers and cornering. Carrying a 9,25 difficulty rating (KCR Kamberg Coffin Rating) not so much for the course but the obstacles: evade the shotgun blasts, negotiate the breakneck speedbumps, fend off demonic sheepdogs, skirt the buckets of boiling oil, and lastly; survive the full wrath of Attie's verbal onslaught - Enjoy
SPORT IN THE KAMBERG
BASS CLASSIC: Franco 'The Italian Stallion' Esposito was disturbed at his home in the exclusive (039) area this past weekend to comment on the upcoming bass classic: He said people as far as Estcourt have been denied entrance to this exclusive event although contestants from Mooiriver are allowed. Asked to comment on the rumour that there is only one team entered, he replied that the rumour was based on horticultural rice fields and had no place in a modern society, where nitrates play such an integral fiddle. There are nine teams entered from the Kamberg so far with all the promises of more teams joining the rush.
Asked about his particular strategy for the day he intoned that lubrucation of the larynx might possibly distinguish the top teams.
CRICKET: JS Menni did not appear at the SHCI this past Thursday due to complicated weather patterns emerging from waving tree branches. Rowan van Aardt hinted that JS and an entire posse of team members will be making their advances at the Horse this upcoming Thursday. The panel of selectors will also be naming the team to play the NRSF on the 3rd of December at Clifton Primary.
RUNNING: There was still no competative running this week. Speaking to Pulliver Hoaks, board member of the Kamberg Athletic Cooperative (KAC), the impression was got that the conditions of the road in front of Meshlynn was to blame.
RUGBY: The editor approached the Kamberg Colt Rugby coach, Oom 'Hendrik' Hennie, and asked him how he fancied his teams chances against the Sringboks in
next weeks clash. He winked slyly and said that the plan is to play rugby, and that should just about be the undoing of the Bokke.
