Situated in a lush valley amongst rolling hills near the edge of the escarpment, Oban Guest Farm commands spectacular views of the mountains, while the 1700 m altitude provides an invigorating climate.

Oban Guest Farm is located 5km from the town of Van Reenen, halfway between Johannesburg and Durban. Situated in a lush valley amongst rolling hills near the edge of the escarpment, it commands a spectacular view of the surrounding mountains, while the 1700 metre altitude gives Oban an invigorating climate.

The Old Homestead, where home cooked meals are served by your friendly hosts, has an inviting lounge where you can relax around a log fire, a large selection of books are available for our guests to make use of while either lounging around the pool or snuggling in front of the fire,there is a  pub where you can socialise over drinks. Oban does not have a licence, but feel free to bring your own liquor.There is a small Shoppe where soft drinks can be purchased as well as a selection of our local ladies beaded articles as we run the Beads of Hope programme from Oban ,whereby we equip and train our talented local rural woman in the art of beading in order to provide a sustainable income for many who have no other form of employment or wish to supplement meagre incomes.The Pool room is available for guests to shoot pool as well as our coffee bar area where you can have a refreshing cuppa anytime of the day.

There is a swimming pool, a games hall for older children,as well as a kiddies room for smaller children in the Olde Homestead, the surrounding mountains are perfect for beautiful walks and climbs, enhanced by an abundance of birds and summer flowers.

Sterkfontein Dam is 40 minutes drive away and offers excellent trout fishing, windsurfing and boating.Horse riding as well as quad biking and trout fishing  can be arraged in the area, please ask in advance if you would like to book as they are on a "first come first serve basis".Prices are quoted from the relevant establishments  at the time of enquiry.

Oban offers our guests a Snow Alert facility whereby you can request to go on our list and we will mail you when snow hits our area. It is a wonderful experience to undergo and no matter ones age one seems to become a child once again.

Weddings for 8 to 80 guests, birthdays, anniversaries, meetings for 5 to 15 delegates, conventions, any special occassions by arrangement.Our Chapel will be completed on the inside by April.We will be hosting a range of Crafting courses called our TLC Weekends so we will keep you posted on our Face Book page as soon as these dates are available.
