The pub is open from a Friday afternoon through to a Sunday afternoon. It has an African theme and also boasts a large screen for the rugby and sports enthusiasts! Pecanwood is situated on 50 acres of prime land with spectacular views, approximately 15km outside Pietermaritzburg, in picturesque Birnam Wood, halfway between Hilton and Howick. Our views have rolling green lawns, tree covered hills, forestation, and views of the Drakensberg. This is Africa, in a very relaxed setting! We also boast the most amazing sunsets! View them from our sundeck over the dam, filled with awesome huge, tame fish that get fed by hand. Pecanwood is exciting and different! Accommodation Pecanwood is exciting and different with professional, dedicated staff catering to your special needs. We offer picturesque, private, professional and personal country hospitality. It is situated in the Midlands on 50 acres of wide-open spaces with spectacular views and wonderful photographic opportunities, all in tranquil Birnamwood. It is halfway between Hilton and Howick, so is only an hour from Durban. We have rolling green lawns, tree covered hills, forestation, and views of the Drakensberg. This is Africa, in a very relaxed setting! We also boast the most amazing sunsets! View them from our sundeck over the dam. The wedding venue seats up to 180 comfortably, with 10 guests per table banquet style, with a large dance floor. Marquees are available for larger numbers. There is NO LIMIT to the number of people we can accommodate in a marquee. We have 2 venues for conferencing and weddings, which are climate controlled and have the usual conferencing equipment. Both venues are completely climate controlled and we have a huge generator on site which can cope when Eskom fails. We have a unique chapel and accommodation on site, including a romantic honeymoon suite complete with spa bath and double shower indoors as well as a double shower outdoors. Our accommodation is 3 star graded on a bed and breakfast basis and each standard room has 2 single extra length beds en suite. Our dedicated wedding venue has simple, elegant décor with a draped ceiling complete with fairy lights. The windows and doors are also draped. The veranda of the wedding venue has fairy lights as well as a dam in front of the venue with a fountain in the middle. There is a lovely deck over the dam. Lovely photographic opportunities as we boast amazing views to the berg and awesome sunsets. We offer quality cuisine with 21 different menus and you may also personalize your menu of choice. We can either co-ordinate your whole wedding for you at no extra cost or point you in the right direction with a list of awesome vendors. Our dedicated staff will ensure that you will enjoy our true country hospitality. We have Sakabula golf course 5 mins away and are at the start of the Meander and nearby fishing and horse riding, wonderful hikes and Howick Falls is 20 mins away

The size of our property also makes us ideal for launching and promoting vehicles and machinery etc. We specialize in functions with flair and have a reputation for our cuisine and Christmas functions.
