AttractionsHilton is nestled in the forested hills above Pietermaritzburg. Bancroft is on the doorstep of World's View a mountain bike, off road motorbike and cycling hotspot. Our son Ryan is an Off Road Motorbike enthusiast, and takes keen riders on day trips in the area. The Midlands offer some of the best crafters in the country dotted all over the Midlands Meander...cheese makers iron mongers, leather workers, stained glass makers as well as embroiderers, rug makers kite makers and the list goes on and on for a trip of exciting enjoyment. The magnificent snow - capped Drakensberg mountains are an hour and a half away and it will take an hour to dip your toes in the chilly Indian Ocean from here. Sea or mountain, country or town we have it all here! Wrap up and enjoy our beautiful Midlands winter and some warm hospitality at Bancroft!
FacilitiesWe offer extremely comfortable accommodation and a hearty breakfast is the highlight of the day! We serve a Full English Breakfast and a delicious fruit platter, with a selection of at least 5 cereals, yoghurt and fruit juice. Omlettes, drop scones and waffles to order! Bottomless tea and coffee!! We make every effort to oblige with particular needs. We are a non smoking establishment and unfortunately cannot accommodate pets. Dinner can be provided but we are also very close to a number of very good restaurants and pubs. Car hire can be arranged.DirectionsIf you are coming from Johannesburg on the N3 take the Cedara R103 off ramp. at the top of the off ramp turn right and travel over the freeway into Hilton. Keep going straight. You will get to a set of traffic lights at Crossways Country Inn. Go straight over them ( the road becomes Old Howick Road) and about 1.6kms down the hill we are on the right hand side. If you are coming from Durban on the N3 take the Hilton off ramp at Hilton ave by the Hilton Hotel and carry on past the first traffic lights at the Quarry Shopping Centre. At the next traffic lights turn left (at Crossways Country Pub) and travel 1.6kms down Old Howick Road. We are on the right hand side, just past Chaseford.
