Bluegum Cottage is a self catering cottage that is privately positioned at the end of meadow ensuring absolute peace. This is a tastefully appointed cottage with beautiful wooden furnishings. It consists of an enclosed verandah, open plan lounge with fireplace and dining area. The kitchen is fully equipped. One bedroom has 2 single beds en suite shower room, a second bathroom with a free-standing ball & claw bath, a king-sized double bedded room with an en suite bathroom with a free-standing ball & claw bath. The third room has a two singles. Braai facilities are available. Bluegum sleeps 6 comfortably.

Near to the Main House, alongside the indigeneous forest, is Babbling Brook, cottage that offers accommodation that consists of a well equipped kitchenette, open plan dining area with a fireplace, one bedroom with a two single beds making a king, bathroom en suite and a small lounge also with fireplace. There is also a shower-room.

Clyden Valley Guest Farm is situated 20kms from Nottingham Road (13kms of which is gravel rd)
Situated between Fort Nottingham and Dargle on a farm of 100ha of which 30ha is indiginous forest. There is an Nguni Stud and SA Boer perd Stud.

The cottages are serviced daily.

We have a well-stocked trout dam on the property which guests are welcome to use on a catch-and-release basis.

Wonderful walks through natural paths in the forest and around the farm.

Situated on the Midlands Meander which offers a variety of crafts and activities.

Directions

From Johannesburg Take the Nottingham Road exit from the N3. In Nottingham Road go under the railway bridge, and take the next left turn, signposted to Fort Nottingham. Follow the tar road for 11km. Where the road changes to gravel, bear left, you will pass Hawklee. Travel for a approximately another 3 km. Turn right at the Clyden Valley Farm Sign and travel for 3.5 km. From Durban Take the Howick North Tweedie offramp. Turn right onto the R103 towards Nottingham Road. At Lions River see the Dargle/Impendle sign turn left and travel 16.5km, pass the Petrus Strydom turn off. Turn right at the Fort Nottingham/Nottingham Road sign. Travel 7.3km. At the Clyden Valley Farm sign turn left and travel 3.5 kms to the Main Homestead. Vehicles with a high clearance recommended. Guests are reminded to bring food, drinks, towels, toiletries and charcoal for braais.
