AttractionsSolitude is situated in the exclusive Petrus Stroom area of the Dargle valley. Walks, and mountain-biking are popular in the nearby indigenous forests. Birdwatching is rewarding, even from the verandahs of the cottages. Fishing on the dam is fun and children enjoy rowing on the small boat and canoe.

Head towards Tweedie (not Howick). You should pass Pallet Link and pass through a narrow tunnel bridge. 3. At the T-juntion by the garage and “Everything Shop” (!), turn right towards Lion’s River. 4. After the Mandela Capture Sight and Thokan’s Cash Store, look for a left turn to Dargle (and Hebron Haven). Take this left. 5. Pass the turn off to Hebron Haven, pass the Lion’s River Club and the Mud Gallery & Cafe. 6. After “Lamtim”, look for a left turn to Petrus Stroom (and Aird Country House). Take this left onto a dirt road. 7. At the T-Juntion by Corrie Lyn, turn right, still following the signs to Aird. 8. After Barland take a left towards Aird. 9. Just after Aird, see a sign for Solitude, number 33, on the left. 10. Pass the first house, keeping right, to the bottom track past the small dam on your right. 11. The next property is Solitude and you will see the cottages across the dam.
