Redlands offers both the personal service and warmth of a fine hotel and the home comforts of self-catering apartment accommodation, all set in the magnificent park like grounds of Redlands Estate.

Location

Situated off Howick Road, in the highly sought after northern suburbs of Pietermaritzburg, Redlands is conveniently situated within easy commuting distance of the CBD, shopping centres, the industrial areas and the N3 national highway.

Accommodation

The Hotel has 22 tastefully appointed bedrooms of which 16 are Deluxe suites, with the option of queen size or twin beds.

The two Library suites have been designed with the travelling businessman in mind, offering a queen size bed and a study area off the bedroom. Four Premier suites offer an extra length sleigh bed in the bedroom and a separate lounge area.

All rooms are fuly airconditioned, have en-suite bathrooms with separate bath and shower, direct dial telephones, television, tea/coffee making facilities and room service from 06h30 to 21h30.

The Lodge has six self catering apartments where long or short term guests can benefit from the comfort of home surroundings with the benefits of hotel services, if required. The apartments are available with either one or two bedrooms and all have comfortable lounge / dining areas, bath and shower facilities, extensive cupboard space, room safes, 7 channel digital satellite television and fully fitted kitchens.

Conference

Redlands Hotel boasts two dedicated conference venues, the Redlands Room and the Boardroom. Depending on seating arrangements, the Redlands Room can accommodate 50 delegates "school room" style and 80 delegates "cinema" style. the Redlands Room is situated in close proximity to the main hotel and is equipped with a service bar, satellite kitchen and ablutions, allowing the venue to be totally self contained. The new addition of a covered veranda completes the venue as a 1st class conference destination.
The Boardroom is ideal for smaller functions. The standard setup is U-shaped around which 15 delegates can be comfortably seated; this can be varied on request. An adjacent reception area completes the venue.
The Blue Room is also available for functions from 11h00 to 16h00. 40 delegates can be seated comfortably depending on layout.
To ensure no disruption to conference facilities and to the hotel guests, the electrical supply is fully backed up by a standby generator.

Weddings

Redlands Hotel and Lodge is situated on the beautiful and tranquil Redlands Estate, approximately 3km from Pietermaritzburg’s city centre and the national highway. The recent addition of the Redlands Room has allowed for the introduction of small, intimate weddings of up to a maximum of 70 guests. The venue is perfectly situated in close proximity to the hotel and the gardens offer many photographic opportunities without having to travel from the venue. Numerous churches are in the area and for less formal ceremonies, the service can be held in the gardens. The hotel and lodge boast 22 luxurious suites and 6 self catering lodges.

Facilities

The accomodation at Redlands Hotel is comprised of 12 Deluxe Rooms, 2 Library Suites and 4 Premier Suites. The rooms are situated on either the 1st or second floor of the original hotel or on the ground and 1st floors of the new wing which was completed in 2007. All of the rooms are beautifully appointed. The Premier and Library Suites in particular boast beautiful views over the tree tops and have private lounges or studies. All of our suites have access to either wireless or ADSL internet connections, the use of which is complementary. Air-conditioning , satellite television and direct dial telephones all come as standard along with complementry tea and coffee stations. limited room service is available from 11h00 to 22h00.

Facilities

Guests have the use of a quiet and comfortable private lounge, club room, traditional dining room and ladies bar.

The tennis court and swimming pool are for the use of Hotel and Lodge guests.

A conference centre and function room, ideal for small seminars, presentations or private dinner or cocktail parties can cater for a maximum of 60 persons cinema style. Fax and photocopy services are available.
Porterage and laundry services are available.

The property promotes first rate security and access with controlled entrance and exit points.

Meals

English or Continental breakfasts are served in the dining room or on a sunny patio from 6h30.
Light lunches are available from the Pub lunch menu.
Evening meals are from an a la carte menu featuring fresh daily specialties and variety of local and international dishes served in the elegant restaurant, The Blue Room.
