Penny Lane has a sparkling swimming pool, and a trampoline for the children. Stroll around the secure property (56 acres), or just relax in the shade of one of the magnificent trees in our garden. We also arrange horse riding and hiking on request.

The children's lounge is indicative of our policy regarding children. Videos,DVD, toys and games are available.

There are five golf courses within 25 minutes drive of Penny Lane.

In association with Wildfly of Nottingham Road we can offer our guests a complete trout fishing package no matter how experienced you are. Accommodation, equipment hire and lessons if required, and guided or unguided fishing are all available.

We offer both English and Continental style breakfasts. A three course gourmet dinner is offered on request, for those who enjoy excellente cuisine.

Attractions

The Midlands Meander offers a wide variety of cottage industries, arts and crafts.

There is a mini-brewery, various cheese and German sausage makers, art galleries, potters, and numerous craftsmen working with wood, iron and stained glass.

Along the route, are various restaurants, tea gardens, and coffee shops many with an International flavour. Drive yourself, or relax and let a guide take you to the places that you want to see.

Two hours drive from Penny Lane lies an area known as "The Battlefields" depicting the turbulent history of this region. The many monuments and war graves of the Voortrekker-Zulu War (1836-1852) the Anglo-Zulu War of 1879, and the Anglo Boer Wars of 1881, and 1899-1902 are indicative of great acts of heroism on all sides and the emerging vision of the 'Rainbow Nation.'

History is real in the company of your guide when visiting places such as Spioenkop, Ladysmith, Colenso, Vaalkrans and stand next to the rail tracks at the exact spot where Winston Churchill was captured by the Boers.
